The programming team behind The Pompano Beach Amphitheater and the upcoming Cultural Center of Pompano Beach, together with community partner Pompano Citi Centre, have created a new destination for lovers of art, music, film, and poetry. Magnetic is the name of the pop up spaces that will host weekly events including ArtPop#, Creative Clash, music Sessions, and an artwalk at the Pompano Citi Centre.
“We were thrilled with the response to our first ArtPop# extravaganza at Citi Centre and now we will draw from an array of multi-disciplinary art worlds to create weekly programming that will both entertain and inspire,” said Alyona Ushe of Pompano Beach Arts.
The creative movement at Citi Centre is an incubation initiative designed to showcase Pompano Beach talent along side international artists and will serve as inspiration for the type of programming that will be included at the cultural center that is planned to open in early 2017.
Byron Swart, the artistic director and curator of the cultural center, has announced a call-to-artists and a call-to-cultural organizations to become part of the “cultural collective” that will form the core programming of the new venue.
“Pompano is becoming a major draw for great talent,” said Swart. “Hence our name Magnetic. We are thrilled to be launching this weekly series at Citi Centre, where we have our box office for The Amp. Our May 6th launch will truly be an engaging experience.”
Magnetic will be a movable space at Pompano Citi Centre. The current shows will take place at suite 104, near the Carousel. For more information please call 954-839-9578
